The Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. (the "Foundation") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports individuals and other nonprofits in our community-primarily through the resale of donated goods at the Kiwanis Thrift Sale. In 2023 alone, we provided more than $1,000,000 in charitable grants and gifts. The Sale is open Fridays and Saturdays, while the work to prepare and process merchandise takes place Monday through Saturday. This is a collaborative, fast-paced, hands-on environment with a dedicated mix of paid staff, members of the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor, and committed volunteers.
About the Position
Sales Associates/Drivers play a key role in supporting the Thrift Sale operations, which is the main source of fundraising for the Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation. This role provides sale day supportdonation pickup services throughout the greater Ann Arbor area.
- Driving a box truck
- Loading and unloading the box truck
- Removal of furniture and goods from donor residences
- Organizingmaintaining warehouse and workspaces
- Other tasks assigned by the Sales Manager or other leadership
This is a part-time on-site role with travel within working hours. Average weekly hours are 24 hours per week, including Saturday.
o Walk on average 6 - 8 miles per day
o Lift a minimum of 50lbs at a time, repetitively throughout a work shift
o Work in outdoor and inclement weather conditions
- Good communication and ability to work with the public
o During sale hours, this position has customer service responsibilities with shoppers at the thrift sale
o Calm demeanor and solution-based problem-solving abilities
o Ability to self start and work well within a team setting
- Basic computer skills- email, Microsoft Suite
- Merchandising experience preferred but not required
- Drug test required
- Clean driving record
