Cooks Auto Parts in Harrison, Michigan is hiring a full-time Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting, payroll, title processing, and administrative office functions. Duties
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, including invoices, payments, deposits, and vendor information.
- Process credit card activity, track missing receipts, and keep supporting documentation organized.
- Set up vendors, collect and maintain W-9 forms, and track 1099-eligible vendors.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor invoices, COD statements, warranty payments, and NSF follow-up.
- Assist with processing payroll.
- Make tax payments, garnishments, and recurring reporting requirements.
- Complete bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate daily and monthly cash records.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including payroll set-up, required forms, and benefits coordination
- Handle bookkeeping and title-related paperwork for vehicle purchases, vehicle sales, resale titles, and tow invoices.
- Respond to chargebacks, unemployment requests, and government notices in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide general administrative support, including ordering office supplies and assisting with office accounting tasks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bookkeeping or accounting experience required.
- Automotive, salvage, dealership, or title-processing experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and proficiency with Excel and general office software
- Experience with payroll, tax payments, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion.
