Optician I - L'Optique of Dallas in Dallas TX
Temporary position at our boutique eye care center
- Full time hours available:
- Monday, Saturday 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- OFF Wednesday and Sunday
- Required to work Saturday
- September 7th start date (with flexibility)
Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Educate patients on their corrective lens options and help them make a choice that fits their medical needs as well as lifestyle preferences
- Provide honest but compassionate feedback about aesthetic choices in frames Achieve sales goals and quotas as determined by office staff while attending to patients’ specific needs and desires
- Review Physician’s prescriptions and orders based on medical charts
- Operate manual lensometer and other tools to achieve proper fittings for patients
- Communicate with physician with questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues
- Perform adjustments and repairs of eyewear
- Dispensing eyewear orders
- Place optical orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits
- Communicating with doctors, staff, and patients
- Answer phone calls, greet patients and schedule appointments
- Educate patients on their insurance coverage and vision benefits
- Obtain insurance authorizations and verification of benefits
- Accurately post charges for exam fees, co-pays, and products sold
Qualifications/Skills Needed:
- 2+ years optical experience
- Excellent customer service and sales skills
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Professional phone and office etiquette
- Coachable-open to feedback and continual improvement
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience dispensing corrective lenses preferred
- Experience with both contact lenses and glasses
- Ability to operate lensometers and other equipment
- Certified Dispensing Optician desired but not required
