Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to support clients with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and toileting, to promote independence
- Collect and record data on client behaviors accurately during sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Support clients in educational settings by applying teaching strategies aligned with their care plans and goals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding client confidentiality and handling medical records responsibly
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, and families to ensure consistency in behavior management techniques and intervention strategies
- Participate in ongoing training related to behavioral health, medical terminology, and documentation practices to enhance professional growth
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, working with children, or special education is preferred but not required; we provide comprehensive training for all new team members
- Strong interest in working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities and a passion for helping others succeed
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and implement behavior plans accurately
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Knowledge of medical documentation, medical terminology, and care plans is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and positive attitude when working in behavioral health settings
- Ability to work flexible hours including afternoons or evenings as needed for client sessions
