American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of interventional cardiac catheterization experience for a level II trauma center.
-
Work in a Cardiovascular Recovery/Cath Lab unit with 4 procedure rooms
-
Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center facility
-
Patient population includes STEMI/NSTEMI, LHC/RHC, CHF, Angina, ACS, Afib, IABP/Impella, CTOs, staged/protected PCI, pericardiocentesis, and temp pacers
-
Additional case exposure may include EP procedures, vascular/peripheral cases, PE interventions, and hybrid/structural procedures such as TAVR and Watchman

Average of 20-25 patients seen per day
-
Uses Cerner EMR, Philips XPER hemodynamic monitoring system, IntellaSpace PACS, and Omnicell medication dispensing
-
12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, starting at 6:30 AM
-
No floating required
-
On-call rotation includes every 4th weekend and approximately 1 weeknight call and 1 late shift per week

Weekend on-call runs Friday end of shift through Monday at 6:30 AM
-
Weekday call runs end of shift until 6:30 AM the following morning
-
Call team response time is 30 minutes
-
Schedule cycle rotates every 3-6 weeks
-
Minimum of 1 year of interventional Cath Lab experience required; diagnostic-only experience not accepted

BLS and ACLS certification required
-
ARRT certification required
-
RCIS certification preferred but not required
-
License required if applicable
-
Skills required include laser lead extraction, Rotablator, FFR, IVUS, Impella, IABP, EKOS, pacemaker management, scrub and pan table technique, Medrad contrast injector use, and groin site management and monitoring

First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Support staff on the unit includes a Cath Lab Coordinator/Supervisor, RT and Hospitalist coverage 24/7, on-call Cardiologist, and RRT/Code Team
-
Daytime transporter available, though RN will accompany patients to the recovery area
-
New or returning travelers absent 1+ year will complete 24 hours of classroom orientation plus 1-3 shifts on the unit

Rehire orientation length depends on time since last assignment
-
One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage expected per policy

Time off requests must be approved by the unit manager

Green hospital scrubs are provided

Parking available in a parking deck

Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered

Former staff must wait 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
