Job Summary
The Grapple Truck Driver is responsible for operating a grapple-equipped refuse truck to collect, load, and transport bulky waste, construction debris, and recyclable materials. This role requires safe operation of heavy equipment, attention to surroundings, and professional interaction with customers and the public.
Duties
- Operate a grapple truck to safely collect and load bulky items, brush, construction debris, and refuse
- Drive assigned routes efficiently while following all traffic laws and safety procedures
- Use hydraulic grapple controls to load materials without damaging property
- Transport collected materials to designated disposal or recycling facilities
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and grapple equipment
- Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or route obstacles promptly
- Maintain accurate route logs, tickets, and disposal documentation
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers and job sites
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required. CDL Class A Preferred.
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of grapple trucks and trailers.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with work.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
