Join our dynamic team as a CDL Company Driver for over-the-road (OTR) operations, where you'll play a vital role in transporting freight across long distances with efficiency and safety. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized trucks across multiple routes
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual methods when necessary
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Manage route driving responsibilities with precision to meet delivery schedules while adhering to hours-of-service regulations
- Secure freight properly for transport and ensure it remains intact during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on CDL Class A or B vehicles operating manual transmissions
- Familiarity with various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures for load & unload operations across different cargo types
- Ability to operate additional equipment such as forklifts when required for loading or unloading freight
- Excellent driving skills with a clean safety record and understanding of route planning for efficient deliveries
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards for commercial driving across state lines
- Physical ability to handle freight loading tasks and perform vehicle inspections effectively
