Field of Dreams provides center-based childcare services for children ages 2.9 to 5 years old with and without special needs in both an integrated and non-integrated preschool setting.
Masters/Doctoral Degree from an accredited program
1+ year pediatric experience preferred. New Graduates will be considered
NYS Physical Therapy License (Required)
32.5 hr work week with PTO/Sick time, health benefits, 401K, Aflac & dependent care.
In addition to the preschool curriculum, children receive center-based physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
The PT is responsible for the remediation of children with a wide range of disabilities/delays
Areas addressed include gross motor skills, safety and body awareness.
The PT will utilize a variety of strategies including strengthen, balance and adaptive techniques to help students reach their maximum potential
The PT contributes goals to the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) and will work on these target objectives throughout the school year
The PT will provide quality individual sessions in person while working at our center-based program.
The PT will provide direct physical therapy services to students as per their IEP mandates
The PT will develop treatment plans to achieve identified goals
The PT will adhere to applicable principles and practices of occupational therapy, APTA policies/procedures, and state regulations
The PT will work collaboratively with SLPs, OT’s, school psychologists, behavioral team, and classroom staff as needed to provide positive treatment outcomes
The PT will work effectively with parents, teaching staff and other professionals directly involved in the care and treatment of the child to develop and monitor IEP services
The PT will complete all necessary paperwork accurately and timely (e.g., daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, annual reviews, etc.)
The PT will participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each child as related to his/her mandated services and progress updates.
