Job Title: Caregiver for Personal Support

Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to provide personal support and companionship for clients with intellectual disabilities . As a caregiver, you will be responsible for , assisting with daily activities, and fostering a positive and comfortable environment. Your primary goal will be to ensure the well-being, safety, and happiness of the individual under your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Support:
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide mobility assistance, including helping with walking, transferring, and positioning.
- Assist with medication reminders and other health-related tasks as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Companionship:
- Offer emotional support through engaging conversations, encouragement, and empathy.
- Provide social interaction, including participation in hobbies, reading, or walks.
- Ensure the individual feels valued, safe, and understood, fostering a warm and positive relationship.
- Household Assistance:
- Assist with light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, taking into consideration any dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Help maintain a tidy and organized living space.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Observe the health and well-being of the individual, noting any changes and reporting them to family members or medical professionals.
- Ensure safety measures are followed, including preventing falls and ensuring a hazard-free environment.
Qualifications:
- Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or caregiving is required ;
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with resident rights and advocacy principles is essential.
- CPR certification
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others is critical for success in this role.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- AHCA Level 2 Background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in personal support worker (PSW) or home health aide (HHA) is a plus.
- Background in caregiving, nursing, or healthcare.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods of time and assist with daily physical tasks.
- Comfortable providing personal care in a respectful and professional manner.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
