Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Agriculture Production Mechanic to join our dynamic team. We have two (2) full-time positions available. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of agricultural machinery and heavy equipment used in nursery operations. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting the productivity and success of our agricultural initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead maintenance efforts, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and contribute to the overall health of our nursery machinery.
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities
- Automation & Machinery Oversight: Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all automatic transplanting equipment, precision sowing machines, and label applicators.
- Controls & Systems Programming: Program and adjust soil lines to dynamically balance flow (preventing line stoppages and overflow waste); troubleshoot electrical components, relays, and sensors.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and execute routine Preventive Maintenance schedules across the production floor to extend machinery lifecycles and prevent peak-season
- Bilingual Floor Leadership: Act as the operational bridge, translating technical vendor documentation (English) into clear, actionable direction for the frontline production crew (Spanish).
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection logs, and repair documentation for all machinery.
- Collaborate with the nursery Head Mechanic to schedule preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in electrical troubleshooting (fuses, wiring, sensors) and automated machinery programming.
- Industry Experience: Industrial maintenance background, specifically with automation or specialized machinery.
- Language Skills: Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish (required for rapid troubleshooting and team management
