Celebrating its 35th anniversary next January, Kikkerland is a well-known designer and distributor of gift items, gadgets, toys, and novelty products. Kikkerland's core business is wholesale, selling internationally to retailers of all sizes; and the company has a growing direct-to-consumers focus via e-commerce. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team working full-time in our NYC office. High-volume, fast paced creative environment commands a self-starter who is hard-working, personable, and flexible.
Accounting and Financial Analysis Responsibilities
- Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly; and prepare year-end workpapers for the outside accountants.
- Prepare, analyze and report on key operating areas including, but not limited to, our third party warehousing costs; freight out expenses; tradeshow financial results; marketing and advertising; B2C revenues and expenses; and the landing factors in connection with our receipts of inventory.
- Prepare weekly sales and bookings updates for Kikkerland Design and its affiliated foreign entities.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables, V-Lookups, and data analysis tools to streamline reporting processes.
- Run reports formatted for the outside third-party preparer for the filings of the USA company's sales tax returns.
- Prepare and file other tax and/or state annual reports for the USA entity.
- Run the system's daily and month-end closings.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Key Requirements/Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
- Minimum three years of financial operations experience in a similar wholesaler/distributorship environment.
- Guru in Excel.
- Superb numbers and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- CPA firm experience and CPA license highly preferred.
- Team-player/collaborator with a problem-solving demeanor.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Trustworthiness in keeping sensitive matters confidential.
