Superior Services & Supply is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to support our growing water infrastructure division. This position will be responsible for producing accurate construction and fabrication drawings for new water tower construction, water tower renovations and retrofits, pump systems, piping layouts, and mechanical/electrical schematics.
This is a hands-on role that works closely with project managers, engineers, fabrication personnel, and field crews to ensure drawings are accurate, practical, and ready for construction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, understands how drawings translate to the field, and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings for:
- New water tower construction (GSTs, Standpipes, and Elevated Towers)
- Water tower renovations and rehabilitation projects
- Water tower retrofits and modifications
- Shop fabrication drawings
- Pump station layouts
- Mechanical piping systems
- Process flow diagrams and schematics
- Electrical and control schematics
- As-built drawings
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Create detailed shop drawings for steel fabrication, piping, and structural components.
- Coordinate drawing revisions with project managers, engineers, fabrication shops, and field personnel.
- Ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and meet project specifications.
- Maintain drawing revisions and document control throughout the life of each project.
- Assist with project submittals and construction documentation.
- Support multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD drafting experience (5+ years preferred).
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D & Fusion.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience producing shop fabrication drawings.
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, dimensions, and construction practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently when needed.
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Elevated water storage tanks
- Water tower construction and rehabilitation
- Municipal water systems
- Pump stations
- Structural steel detailing
- Mechanical piping systems
- P&IDs and process schematics
- Electrical one-line or control drawings
- Autodesk Inventor, Plant 3D, Civil 3D, or Revit
- Bluebeam Revu
