American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and an active TX license for a pediatric children's hospital setting with a 20:1 patient ratio.

Children's Hospital setting at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 beds
-
Radiation Therapist unit with a patient ratio of 20 patients per RT

Pediatric and adult outpatient patient population

Day shift, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

No float, on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements

Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the state

Modalities and equipment include Elekta Infinity, Elekta Versa HD, GE, and HexaPOD (preferred)

Procedures include External Beam Therapy, IMRT, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, CT Simulation, Electron Beam Therapy, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) — several preferred

Epic EMR experience required

13-week contract

Active Texas (TMB) state license required; compact license must be in hand at time of consideration — license required if applicable

Current ARRT (R) and BLS certifications required

Minimum of 2 years of Radiation Therapist experience required

Teaching hospital experience preferred

Experience with pediatric and adult outpatient settings preferred

Epic EMR experience required

Radiation safety knowledge required

Skills in pretreatment, dosimetry, brachytherapy assist, and beam modifying/positioning
-
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but at a different rate
-
Administer radiation therapy treatments utilizing a variety of modalities including IMRT, SRS, Gamma Knife, and External Beam Therapy
-
Responsibilities include patient/family teaching, chart checks, CT simulation, custom molds, and care of patients including those in restraints
-
Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
-
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning in a travel capacity and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Holiday coverage required — must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be granted

Galaxy Blue or Royal Blue scrubs required for Radiation Therapists
