Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Infant Lead Teacher to join our team at the Goddard School of Cherry Hill. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a deep commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for toddlers. This role focuses on supporting developmental milestones, fostering independence, and encouraging curiosity through hands-on exploration. A love for working with young children and an understanding of toddler development are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play, sensory exploration, movement, and social interaction.
- Foster a warm, supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive peer relationships.
- Monitor and document children’s developmental progress, sharing observations and updates with parents to support growth at home and school.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets the needs of active toddlers.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and other professionals to support the needs of each child, including those with special needs or developmental delays.
- Provide attentive care, including feeding, diapering, and supporting potty training routines, while promoting healthy habits and self-help skills.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge of toddler development and best practices in early childhood education.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of toddler development, including social-emotional, physical, and cognitive milestones.
- Experience working with young children in daycare, toddler classrooms, or similar early childhood settings.
- Familiarity with behavior guidance strategies that promote self-regulation and positive social skills.
- Ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities tailored to toddlers’ unique learning styles.
- First aid/CPR certification is preferred; knowledge of caregiving for children with special needs is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with toddlers, parents, and colleagues.
- Classroom experience that demonstrates patience, flexibility, and effective teaching strategies with very young children.
