Purpose: To support and build the children’s ministry of La Habra Hills Presbyterian Church; to teach children in the Christian faith within their families, while reaching out to the surrounding community
Approach: This will be accomplished by the Children’s Ministry Intern through being integrally involved with a team of volunteers who are committed to a ministry designed to build children and families as disciples of Jesus Christ
Qualifications:
- Candidates for this position must have made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and must demonstrate the reality of that relationship through their life and testimony.
- Candidates must have a love for children, experience teaching and leading children, and the ability to relate well to children preschool age through 5th grade
- Candidates must desire to see children’s lives engaged and impacted with the Gospel and desire to see children grow and develop as Christians in the context of both their family and the family of faith.
- Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in team situations with adult volunteers. Candidates should value interaction and partnership with parents, church staff, and the congregation.Personal Growth:

Ministry Responsibilities:
- Lead the Wednesday night children’s God Squad discipleship and outreach program for children preschool age through 5th grade
- Lead the Sunday morning program for children once a month and participate weekly in LHHPC’s Sunday morning worship service
- Support the Director of Student Ministries in leading a summer Vacation Bible School outreach
- Partner with the Director of Student Ministries to build a holistic ministry to families of LHHPC and the community through the weekly Sunday/Wednesday ministries and through planning and leading special events outside of Sundays and Wednesdays throughout the year
- Regularly follow-up and build relations with parents/guardians, including regular and occasional attenders and visitors. Partner with the Director of Student Ministries in creatively seeking to reach out to new children and families
- Be involved in regular personal Bible study, prayer, and devotions, seeking opportunities for personal growth, renewal, and Christian community
- Be an active participant in Sunday worship and congregational life at LHHPCMinistry Responsibilities:

Anticipated Time Requirements:
The expectation for ministry responsibilities and preparation is 8 hours weekly.
Compensation: $20 per hour
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
