We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry level Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of low voltage systems across commercial and cutom homes sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of security, communication, and automation systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients’ environments. Duties
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV surveillance, access control, sensors, and security systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately complete system installations.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on security systems, telecommunication infrastructure, and power supplies.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform cabling, conduit bending, termination, and equipment mounting tasks.
- Diagnose system issues using remote access software and field testing tools; implement effective repairs promptly.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper integration of low voltage systems.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, service reports, system configurations, and maintenance logs for compliance and future reference.
- Engage in alarm system sales consultations by assessing client needs and recommending suitable security solutions.
- Stay current with industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements to ensure all work complies with safety regulations.
- Bilingual English- Spanish will be a big plus .
Skills
- Some knowledge of computer networking principles necessary for configuring networked security devices and remote access solutions.
- Mechanical aptitude for working with various tools, sensors, locks, and power equipment required for installation tasks.
- Desired experience in field service roles involving troubleshooting complex low voltage systems in diverse environments.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components relevant to security systems and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system design documents accurately.
- Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarm systems, and surveillance technology.
- Experience with security system integration including alarm panels, access control hardware/software, and remote monitoring platforms.
- Competence in cabling techniques—category cables (Cat5e/6), fiber optics—and proper termination practices.
- Understanding of construction processes related to installing low voltage infrastructure within new or existing structures.
- Skills in locksmithing or lock hardware installation are a plus for integrated security solutions.
- Familiarity with NEC standards for electrical safety during all phases of installation work.
