Warehouse Associate/ Food Rescue Driver
Non-profit office located at the Food Pantry
Full Time - Paid Hourly- $15.50
Monday – Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm
30-minute lunch break
Description:
- Assist the Supervisor & observe the food warehouse operation while performing the following: Daily food vendor pick-ups, minor upkeep of grounds, keeping the warehouse within safety compliance, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness.
- Reports to the Warehouse Supervisor
Requirement:
- You must be able to lift 60lbs and withstand repetitive lifting, bending, stooping & twisting.
- Must be able to stand on their feet for more than 4 hours.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to be out in the elements while rescuing food for the pantry.
- Working fundraisers.
Responsibilities:
- Keep constant communication with a supervisor about the upkeep and workflow of the warehouse and changes in food distribution pickups.
- All paperwork assigned to the food rescue.
- Co-administer with supervisor on our volunteers and volunteer programs - Youth Workforce, Embassy, Community Service workers (court-mandated helper), etc.
· Daily checks of the fridges, walk-ins, and temperatures must be logged.
- Help empty and clean all garbage cans and replace garbage bags, sweep and keep the break room and warehouse tidy and stocked.
- Help with keeping up on cardboard removal.
- Grounds clean up when necessary.
- Perform necessary duties to keep the warehouse safe and operating according to warehouse guidelines.
- Helping unload semi-trailer of food once a week.
- Schedule times and routes for vendor pickup; be accountable and on time when picking up from all assigned vendors for that day.
- Assist with furniture pickup or curbside pickup for Open Doors Thrift Shop.
- other duties as assigned
Fleet Maintenance:
- Maintenance checks on fleet vehicles monthly.
- Keep track of oil changes and tire rotation. Be sure all fluids are filled and gas is at a good level. (This position is just required to check these things and get any concerns to their supervisor).
- Comfortable driving a box truck and cargo van.
Qualifications:
- GED or High School Diploma
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
- Experience working in a warehouse.
- Knowledge of driving a Box Truck and the use of a pallet jack.
- Handy with tools and maintenance upkeep.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Honesty and a good heart for giving back to our community.
