Ideal qualities/qualifications:
- Medical Assistant Certificate/experience in Dermatology
- High school graduate (or equivalent) or higher degree
- Our Medical Assistants do a large variety of work within our practice. We rely on them to be flexible, detailed, and efficient.
This position may include working directly with patients, physicians or other providers, nurses, other medical assistants, and a variety of administrative staff.
Duties may include, but not be limited to, taking vital signs, reconciling medication, sterilization of medical equipment, doing an MA assessment of patient condition, charting in electronic health records, gathering demographic and insurance information, assisting with outpatient procedures including Mohs surgery and cosmetic procedures, mobility assistance, specimen collections, and processing, administrative work including scheduling, processing referrals, verifying insurance and/or obtaining insurance authorizations, communicating with patients and other medical offices by phone and electronic format, sorting and responding to faxes, electronic sorting and attaching of medical records, Experience in dermatology and assisting in procedures is a plus.
