This is a community based position. A Direct Support Professional (DSP) will work in the non-center based day support program providing community engagement/community coaching services to support individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The goal is to help them achieve greater independence and integration into their community. DSPs assist with daily living skills, supervise structured activities of the clients choice, provide transportation, model positive behavior, teach social skills, implement the ISP, and promote health and well-being in support of their individualized plan. DSPs are responsible for completing daily progress notes, incident reports, and planning activities based on clients preferences. DSPs must be able to drive, have their own transportation, valid driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and be able to pass a background check. This position is based in Roanoke, VA and hours will 9:00a - 5:00p Monday - Friday.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
