Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Electrical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing accurate electrical estimates and bids for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to interpret construction documents, and proficiency with estimating software. The Electrical Estimator will play a key role in helping secure profitable projects while ensuring all estimates are complete, accurate, and competitive.
Duties
- Prepare project takeoff estimates and bid proposals for electrical construction projects.
- Review plans, specifications, addendums, and contract documents to determine project requirements.
- Submit and track Requests for Information (RFIs) during the pre-bid process.
- Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with change order pricing and cost analysis throughout project execution.
- Compile preconstruction Schedule of Values (SOV).
- Compile preconstruction Bills of Material (BOM).
- Coordinate with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and customers as needed.
- Maintain organized estimating files and bid documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of electrical estimating experience.
- Experience using Accubid estimating software is required.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Electrical field experience is a plus but not required.
