From walking dogs to assisting with pet sitting needs and animal handling, you'll be at the heart of creating positive experiences for animals and their parents alike. Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and safe dog walking services, ensuring proper pet exercise and outdoor activity
- Assist with animal care routines including feeding, playing with them, basic clean up such as litter box cleaning, cleaning up after them in the home, brushing their coat, moisturizing their coat on request, providing vitamins on request, wiping paws on request, placing a UV protection shirt on a dog on request, and monitoring health status
- Handle animals with patience and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques when necessary
- Support veterinary-related tasks such as animal handling during check-ups or treatments, leveraging veterinary technician or assistant experience
- Conduct overnight in-home pet sitting visits, maintaining detailed logs of pet behavior and health updates
- Communicate effectively with pet owners (parents) regarding their pets’ needs, behaviors, and care instructions
- Perform kennel cleaning, maintenance, and ensure a clean environment that promotes animal health and safety
Experience
- Prior experience in dog training, pet sitting or animal handling required
- Veterinary experience such as veterinary technician or assistant background highly valued
- Hands-on outdoor work experience involving heavy lifting and physical activity required
- Knowledge of animal behavior, restraint techniques, and pet grooming practices necessary for safe handling
- Familiarity with pet exercise routines and kennel management is a plus
- Strong people skills to build trust with pet parents and address their concerns professionally
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a lively and positive attitude
