What You'll Do
As the Batching Supervisor, you'll oversee all batching operations to ensure chemical formulations are produced safely, accurately, efficiently, and according to customer specifications. You'll be responsible for leading your team while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently met.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead the daily activities of the batching department and assign work priorities
- Coach, mentor, and develop batching employees
- Help team members improve time management, efficiency, and technical skills
- Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching
- Foster a positive culture built on accountability, teamwork, and respect
- Lead by example through professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic
Production & Operations
- Ensure formulas, batch records, and manufacturing instructions are followed accurately
- Coordinate daily activities with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning
- Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities as needed
- Support smooth production flow by anticipating and resolving operational challenges
- Ensure batching equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, GMP, and company requirements
- Investigate batch deviations and implement corrective actions
- Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping
- Promote a Right First Time mindset throughout the department
- Monitor inventory usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and workflow
- Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Encourage employee involvement in problem solving and process improvements
- Help create standardized, repeatable processes that support long-term success

What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Five or more years of experience in chemical manufacturing preferred
- Two or more years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Experience with liquid blending, batching, or aerosol manufacturing is highly desirable
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and formulation control
- Experience with batching procedures and production scheduling
- Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Hazard Communication (HazCom), SDS requirements, and safe manufacturing practices
- Experience using Microsoft Office and ERP/manufacturing software
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions
- Full-time, onsite position based in Martinsburg, WV
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and industrial equipment
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
- Occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
