Topper Industries is a dynamic structural design and fabrication company based in Woodland, WA, specializing in structural aluminum, floating structures, and custom fabrication solutions. We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Estimating and Inside Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This multifaceted role combines technical estimating, project management, and direct customer engagement to support our rapid growth and deliver exceptional service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer requests, bid specifications, and technical drawings (including schematics and blueprints) for industrial, DOT, and commercial projects.
- Prepare detailed, competitive cost estimates and proposals using proprietary pricing guidelines, ensuring accuracy and profitability.
- Shape project budgets, scope of work, options, delivery timelines, and contractual terms.
- Manage your projects from initial proposal through to delivery, coordinating with internal teams and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Establish and maintain strong contacts with customers and purchasing personnel to foster ongoing relationships.
- Collaborate directly with customers, engineers, project owners, and consultants to ensure project success.
- Distribute and manage project information across relevant departments, maintaining clear communication.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to optimize project outcomes.
- Maintain industry knowledge, including understanding of structural aluminum fabrication and erection practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in construction estimating, project management, or sales.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents.
- Experience turning schematic drawings into detailed, competitive estimates.
- Knowledge of structural aluminum, floating structures, and industry terminology.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets), Microsoft Excel, and general business software.
- Exceptional organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong math, geometry, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, professional attitude, and ability to engage effectively with clients and team members.
- Experience in metal fabrication, blueprints, contract negotiation, and project management preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
