Position Summary:
Parkriver Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Cook to join our dietary team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while following dietary guidelines, sanitation standards, and physician-ordered diets. This role plays an important part in ensuring residents receive high-quality meals that support their health, comfort, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and resident dietary needs.
- Follow all therapeutic diet requirements and portion controls as directed by the dietary department.
- Ensure food is prepared in accordance with sanitation and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and work area.
- Assist with food preparation, storage, and inventory rotation following proper food safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with dietary staff to ensure meals are served on time and at appropriate temperatures.
- Follow all state and federal regulations related to food service in a healthcare setting.
- Support a positive dining experience for residents.
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or long-term care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, menus, and therapeutic diet instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Must demonstrate reliability and a commitment to resident care.
