The Transitional Assistance Department is recruiting for Employment Services Specialist Trainees who work directly with program customers in the County's CalWORKs or Behavioral Health programs assessing employability, providing services needed to obtain employment, conducting workshops, and monitoring individual program compliance using an automated case management system to maintain customer records.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment: Applicants must pass a pre-employment process, which includes fingerprinting, credit check, and/or medical exam, prior to appointment.
Bilingual Positions: Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Applicants must pass written and oral language competency tests in order to be considered for bilingual vacancies.
Promotion: Incumbents in the class of Employment Services Specialist Trainee are eligible for promotion to Employment Services Specialist ($53,393.60 - $73,507.20 annually) upon completing the trainee period and receipt of a satisfactory Work Performance Evaluation. Incumbents must be promoted within twelve (12) months of hire or be terminated.
