Job Overview
We are a small family owned AC company seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior AC Technician to join our dynamic service team. In this entry-level role, you will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning systems and related HVAC equipment. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your mechanical skills, gain hands-on experience in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration), and contribute to property maintenance projects. Duties
- Assist senior technicians with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of air conditioning units and HVAC systems.
- Support maintenance tasks on refrigeration equipment, boilers, plumbing fixtures, and other mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to aid in diagnostics and repairs.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections of HVAC/R equipment to identify issues early and prevent system failures.
- Support field service operations by preparing work areas, transporting tools, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of construction principles related to HVAC installation and maintenance.
- Prior experience as a service technician or in a similar field service role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design concepts, plumbing systems, refrigeration technology, and ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge including boiler operation, equipment repair techniques, welding skills, and use of diagnostic tools like ohmmeters.
- Hands-on experience with air conditioning systems, appliance repair, property maintenance tasks, or mechanical systems is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read technical diagrams accurately and follow safety procedures diligently. Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
