Duties
- Operate a wide range of construction equipment including dozers, excavators, skid steers, haul trucks, rollers, water trucks, etc.
- Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Assist with site preparation activities including grading, excavation, loading/unloading materials, and site cleanup.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, inspections, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks effectively on busy construction sites while adhering to project timelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as bulldozers (dozers), loaders, excavators, etc.
- Strong knowledge of basic maintenance procedures for construction equipment.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience driving commercial trucks including tanker trucks or water trucks preferred.
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols, PPE (personal protective equipment) use, and occupational safety regulations.
- Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
- Construction site experience with hands-on knowledge of hand tools and construction machinery maintenance practices.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment on complex projects.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and operating machinery for extended periods.
