Music Pillars is hiring an Intermediate/Early Advanced Piano Instructor + Musical Theatre Accompanist to teach at 4S Ranch/Del Sur location.
If you are NOT COMFORTABLE SINGING WHILE PLAYING TEACHING VOCAL PITCHES FROM THE PIANO, THIS IS NOT THE POSITION FOR YOU!
The applicant needs to have at least an intermediate ability on the piano (Level 5 Faber/Royal Conservatory Level 4).
Schedule
Monday and Wednesdays 4pm - 8pm
Applicants should not apply unless they can commit to both days 4pm - 8pm.
We are seeking candidates who are genuinely interested in Musical Education as a profession, or already have experience in Music Education. If you have classroom instructional experience that is a plus, but not required.

The following are requirements for the position:
1. Bachelors Degree in Music, or a minimum 1-2 years professional playing experience with college-level musical knowledge/skills.
2. Genuine interest in teaching, and a sincere interest in working with students age 8 - 18.
2a. Must have previous experience teaching and working with children
3. Be able to satisfactorily pass an audition that includes the following:
a. Play 1-2 pieces for us (3-5 minutes)
b. Some basic theory questions given
c. Some basic ear training tests (chords, intervals)
d. Sight Reading - we will have you sight read an intermediate piece of music (Faber level 4 approximate)
The following are requirements for this position.
1. Previous Choral or Vocal Accompaniment Experience
2. Previous Piano Teaching Experience
The following are preferences but not requirements for this position:
1. Music Degree
2. Previous Musical Theater Experience
Lessons are all taught at our studio at 10710 Thornmint Rd, Suite 201 San Diego, CA 92127
