Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product information and recommendations.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges while handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods responsibly.
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits to customers.
- Upsell additional items or services to enhance customer satisfaction and increase store sales.
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and merchandised for easy access.
- Manage stock levels by assisting with stocking shelves and inventory counts to ensure product availability.
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays attractively and following store guidelines.
- Assist in training new team members or supervising staff during shifts to ensure smooth operations.
- Engage in basic retail math for cash handling accuracy and daily reconciliation procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure accurate transactions.
- Previous retail sales experience, especially in grocery stores or similar environments, is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with diverse customers effectively.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a broader customer base.
- Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations including stocking, inventory management, and retail math.
- Excellent phone etiquette for professional remote communication.
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities within the team.
- Familiarity with retail safety standards and customer service best practices.
