Role Description:
The Director of Engineering position will provide layouts of wood and mixed material residential home interior designs at WMD. The individual must be professional, ethical, reliable, knowledgeable, and punctual. This position will impact the profitability of the Company by adding value.
· Interact with the Project Managers, Preproduction Managers, Plant Managers as well as potential and current customers, obtain information required for the proper layout and placement of operations
· Promote the image of WMD and the value that its products, services, and employees bring to the marketplace.
· Responsible for organization, implementation, and execution of the shop drawing for specific projects ensuring consistency with company standards, commitments, and goals.
· Manage other draftsman and provide direction when needed.
Status: Exempt
Salary: $175k
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes, Engineering and design/drafting team.
Qualifications:
· Requires a BS in computer science, drafting, design or equivalent work experience.
· Requires at least three (3) years related experience.
· Requires detailed knowledge of major software applications, including Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and other browsers, Crow’s Nest or other CRM software, and CAD/CAM applications such as Solidworks and FeatureCam
· Must have the skills and knowledge to keep all lines of communication open within the office and from external sources & ability to work with other departments.
· Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills, and recognition of the importance of keeping up with industry trends: security, hardware, software, etc.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Language Skills:
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups. Spanish proficiency preferred.
Mathematical Skills:
· Ability to apply concepts of complex math.
Reasoning Ability:
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
· Strong computer proficiencies are essential and must possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite as well as project management programs.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
