Location: Oneida New York
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend | Holiday & On-Call as Required
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join an 11-bed Ventilator Unit. The ideal candidate will have recent Ventilator or ICU experience and be comfortable caring for ventilator-dependent residents in a fast-paced skilled nursing/long-term care environment. The RN will provide direct patient care, administer medications, supervise LPNs and CNAs, collaborate with Respiratory Therapists and physicians, and ensure high-quality resident-centered care.
- Active New York (NY) RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
- Ventilator Unit or ICU experience required
- Current BLS Certification (AHA)
- Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Experience supervising LPNs and CNAs preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams

- RN responsible for medication administration and medication pass
- Supervise and evaluate LPNs and CNAs to ensure completion of assigned duties
- Respiratory Therapists (RRT) available on the unit with Lead RRT on-site
- Provide direct nursing care according to physician orders and individualized care plans.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, IV therapies, and respiratory-related care safely and accurately.
- Monitor ventilator-dependent residents and collaborate with Respiratory Therapists regarding respiratory status and treatment plans.
- Delegate, supervise, and support LPNs and CNAs to ensure quality resident care.
- Collaborate with physicians during rounds and communicate changes in resident condition.
- Enter physician orders into the electronic medical record and coordinate with pharmacy for medication needs.
- Schedule resident appointments and communicate appointment information to families or responsible parties.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings, care planning, discharge planning, and family conferences.
- Assist with wound care, vital signs, infection prevention, and other clinical interventions.
- Document assessments, treatments, incidents, and changes in patient condition accurately and promptly.
- Ensure compliance with narcotic counts, controlled substance policies, and facility documentation standards.
- Report emergencies, safety concerns, abuse, neglect, or significant changes in resident condition immediately.
- Assist with resident activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including hygiene, bathing, dining assistance, and incontinence care.
- Maintain compliance with all facility policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
- Active New York RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience
- Ventilator or ICU experience required
- BLS (AHA) required
- Strong assessment, leadership, documentation, and delegation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
