Imagine taking a demanding print, turning it into a stable CNC process, and watching the first article pass inspection on the first attempt. That’s the bar. You’ll own the setup—from fixtures and program verification to tooling, offsets, and the fine adjustments that protect quality and cycle time throughout the run.
- Set up CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment: install fixtures, load/confirm programs, set tools.
- Execute tool changes and apply precise offsets to maintain dimensional control and finish.
- Read blueprints, work instructions, and inspection requirements; apply GD&T to validate features.
- Run first-piece and in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues to prevent downtime and scrap.
- Coach machine operators during production, answering questions and guiding best practices.
- Track tool wear, machine behavior, and process capability; tune feeds and speeds as needed.
- Complete clear setup documentation and maintain production records.
- Champion safety, quality, and housekeeping on the floor.
- Proven CNC setup experience in a precision manufacturing environment (required).
- Background setting up mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and hit tight tolerances.
- Understanding of tooling selection, offsets, feeds, and speeds.
- Metrology skills: calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges.
- Mechanical mindset and strong problem-solving ability.
- Independent and team-oriented; effective in a fast-paced shop.
- Tool and Die experience preferred.
- Tool and Die or related tooling experience.
- Comfort with GD&T and formal inspection methods.
- Fixture setup experience, process improvement focus, and complex machining troubleshooting.
- Unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Bring your precision mindset to a team that values reliability and attention to detail. You’ll sharpen your craft on challenging setups and see your work translate directly into repeatable, high-quality parts.
