What We’re Looking For: JPA is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Project Engineer, ideally with building design experience in power distribution systems, lighting and lighting control systems, and low-voltage fire alarm and communications systems. Applicants may be a recent college graduate with an electrical engineering degree or an electrical power/lighting engineer with experience in the building and construction industry. Applicants should expect to work primarily with project engineers, project managers, and other senior staff; coordinate with the work of other trades; and serve an active role in the daily design, engineering, and production of projects. JPA expects applicants to work collaboratively at the office while offering a limited hybrid schedule. Ideal candidates should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree(s) in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- EIT status (or PE licensure) is preferred, but not required
- Additional certifications such as LC, RCDD, LEED AP, or WELL AP are preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Autodesk REVIT and AutoCAD design software is required
- Proficiency or working familiarity with AGi32 lighting software and SKM power software packages
- Proficiency and/or experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and other commonly-used engineering software packages
Ideal candidates must also demonstrate:
- Professional work ethic and strong desire to work as part of a multi-discipline design team
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and analytic skills
- Progressive, energetic, and positive work attitude to contribute to and excel in a team environment
- Familiarity with national, state, and local building codes, energy codes, and industry standards
- Experience in design, modeling, and drafting building electrical system components
