Position Summary
Provides comprehensive patient services, including greeting patients, check-in and check-out, scheduling, and medical assisting, while delivering excellent customer service and supporting the efficient flow of practice operations.
This role reports to the Practice Manager, with clinical guidance from physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist with both clinical and front desk administrative tasks
- Perform triage duties (vitals, height/weight, etc.)
- Room patients and direct them to available examination rooms
- Ensure exam rooms are properly set up and cleaned after each patient encounter
- Assist physicians and providers with patient care as needed
- Replenish supplies in exam rooms
- Maintain efficient and organized patient flow
- Discharge patients with instructions
- Interview patients and record medical information in charts
- Enter and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system (eCW experience preferred, but not required)
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls
- Submit prior authorizations
- Coordinate with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) companies
- Verify patient insurance information
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a medical office setting preferred
Skills & Attributes:
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Knowledge of universal precautions, HIPAA, and OSHA standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent patient interaction and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Team player who can also work independently
