Smith Personnel Solutions is currently hiring experienced Welders for a manufacturing company in Sunnyvale, Texas 75128 .
The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform welding duties using FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding).
- Weld steel components according to blueprints, diagrams, work orders, layouts, and written or verbal instructions.
- Perform welds ranging from simple tack welds to complex welds in various positions and workspaces.
- Set up and lay out work using templates and fixtures to modify, fabricate, or repair equipment, parts, and products.
- Operate a variety of air, power, and hand tools, including:
- Welding guns
- Grinders
- Air Arc equipment
- Wrenches
- Hammers
- Cutting torches
- Drills
- Punches
- Scrapers
- Safely operate forklifts, cranes, overhead hoists, and associated rigging equipment as required.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to welding equipment.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Complete daily equipment inspection and check sheets.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report or coordinate repairs when necessary.
- Follow manufacturer instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous professional welding experience required.
- Experience with FCAW and GMAW preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, layouts, and work orders.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to safely operate welding equipment and various hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in different welding positions and confined or difficult-to-reach areas.
- AWS 4G qualification skills are the minimum requirement for this position.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Experienced Welders interviewing must arrive prepared with their own:
*Pliers
*Welpers
*Welding Hood
*Welding Gloves
Experienced welders should already have their required welding equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working in various positions.
- Ability to safely work around welding equipment, machinery, tools, and industrial equipment.
- Must be able to follow all workplace safety requirements.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
