Forklift Operator – 1st Shift – Salina, KS
Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 1st Shift Fork Lift Operator to support our Welding Department at our facility in Salina, KS.
This position works Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, with overtime on Fridays as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all Great Plains policies and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.

Ensure correct part identification and delivery to correct location is a must to maintain inventory accuracy

Complete preventative maintenance on all equipment used

Ensure paperwork from vendors is accurate

Load and unload trucks

Flexibility to work with other departments and operate other equipment

Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
-
Must have forklift license or ability to obtain one

Experience safely operating a forklift or similar equipment helpful

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Understand team concepts and be a strong team player

Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-pressure situations

Ability to use and understand AS400
-
Ability to read blueprints, use tape measure, and read calipers
