Leasing & Marketing Agent
Ithaca Renting Company (IRC) has an immediate opening for a full-time, permanent Leasing & Marketing Agent. If you love connecting with people, have a creative streak, and want to build a real career in real estate — this is your opportunity.
You'll be a public face for IRC, helping keep our prime Downtown Ithaca apartments fully occupied with great tenants, supporting a community of about 300 residents, and driving our marketing presence across digital and traditional channels. You'll work alongside a top team of experienced professionals at one of Ithaca's most established and respected real estate companies — in business since 1971.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Drive leasing through traditional, photographic, video, web, and social media advertising — and help shape the digital voice of our brand
- Monitor advertising effectiveness, track competitor activity, and conduct market surveys on rent levels and prospect responses
- Respond to rental inquiries promptly and professionally; follow up with prospects to close leases or understand why they passed
- Schedule and conduct engaging property tours that help prospects picture themselves at home
- Screen prospective tenants and prepare lease packages through move-in
- Be a go-to resource for our residents — fielding calls, handling in-person visits, and resolving concerns before they escalate
- Coordinate maintenance requests and follow up to make sure residents are satisfied
- Assist with move-ins and move-outs and ensure units are ready on time
- Collect rents, manage resident files, and help coordinate package deliveries
- Prepare weekly leasing reports for management
- Pitch in on other duties as assigned — we're a team
WHAT YOU BRING
- People skills that are genuinely your superpower — warm, persuasive, and easy to talk to
- Associate's degree or higher, with two (2) years of experience in real estate, leasing, sales, or customer service
- Comfort with social media and a feel for what resonates with a younger, college-educated audience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Tech-savvy and organized — proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Rent Manager, Acrobat, Photoshop, WordPress, or HTML is a big plus
- Versatile and adaptable — able to juggle multiple priorities without losing your cool
- A positive attitude, even temper, and professional presence in the office and in the community
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some Saturdays during peak season
- Fair Housing Certification (or willingness to obtain one)
