The Human Resources Service Specialist supports daily HR operations for a home health agency, ensuring smooth staffing processes, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely communication with field and office staff. This role focuses on employee support, onboarding, credential management, scheduling coordination, and maintaining accurate personnel records to uphold agency standards and regulatory expectations.
Serve as a primary point of contact for staff regarding HR-related questions, policies, and procedures.
Provide clear, timely, and professional communication to employees and leadership.
Support a positive workplace culture through consistent, respectful interactions.
Assist with posting job openings, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews.
Prepare and manage onboarding documentation, including background checks, references, and credential verification.
Facilitate new hire orientation and ensure all required training is completed.
Track and maintain employee licensure, certifications, TB tests, CPR cards, and other required documentation.
Monitor expiration dates and send proactive reminders to staff.
Ensure personnel files meet state, federal, and accreditation standards (CMS, DHS, Joint Commission, etc.).
Support audits by maintaining organized, accurate, and uptodate records.
Maintain employee files, HR databases, and digital records.
Process employee status changes, disciplinary documentation, performance reviews, and other HR forms.
Assist with payroll-related tasks such as verifying hours, resolving timekeeping issues, and communicating corrections.
Support equipment tracking (e.g., tablets, badges, uniforms) and manage returns/exchanges.
Experience in Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or related field; home health or healthcare setting preferred.
Strong understanding of HR processes, employee relations, and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication skills with a diplomatic, professional approach.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with HR software, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
