Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Service Providers to support individuals with diverse needs in various care settings. This role involves providing personalized assistance to enhance the quality of life for residents, clients, and patients. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or autism. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through direct support and caregiving in a respectful and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs as needed
- Support with meal preparation and feeding to ensure nutritional needs are met
- Operate EMR systems for documentation of care activities and progress notes
- Use proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts and transfer devices to ensure safe mobility assistance
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including behavior management and memory care strategies
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by engaging in therapeutic activities and ensuring safety measures are in place
- Assist with transportation or driving responsibilities as required for appointments or outings
- Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills and follow protocols for conflict management or behavioral issues
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, case managers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, home care, hospice care, or working with people with disabilities is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and EMR systems is advantageous
- Certification or training in first aid, CPR, and medication administration is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely (e.g., Hoyer lifts) and assist with transfers or mobility support
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to provide person-centered care
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties if required
- Ability to work flexible hours including potential shifts that may involve evenings or weekends depending on the setting
- Must pass background checks and adhere to all safety protocols related to patient care
