Quality Staffing Specialists are currently seeking skilled Registered Nurses to work within the hospital in the Cath Lab Holding - PACU/Special Recovery Unit.
The Specials Recovery Registered Nurse coordinates the care of patients of all ages. Working under moderate supervision, this role identifies patient needs and delivers high-quality care in line with the patient's care plan. This role focuses on the pre, intra, and post-care and recovery of specialized patients in the center. Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:5. Average daily census: 25.
Essential Job Function:
- Monitors patients in the special recovery room and assesses their condition to ensure that patients are recovering safely and to identify any potential complications or issues that may arise.
- Prepares medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians to ensure that patients receive the correct medications and treatments.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure positive patient outcomes and to ensure patients receive coordinated and comprehensive care from all members of the healthcare team.
- Processes documentation of patient care to ensure accurate and complete medical records are maintained.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stocked to ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good working condition in the special recovery room.
- Seeks advice from senior management regarding challenging special recovery treatment plans and other problems that require a deeper understanding.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have 2 years of experience with Cardiac, Telemetry, Emergency Department, Progressive Care or Intensive Care Unit experience.
- Patient undergoing the following procedures: TEE/Cardioversions, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Diagnostic Heart Catheterization, Peripheral Vascular Percutaneous procedures, Pacemakers, Cardiac Ablation, Structural Heart procedures, and Loop Recorders insertions.
- Cardiac Monitoring: Interpretation/Management of dysrhythmias, and Use of Rapid Response/Code teams.
- Cardiovascular: Pacemakers (Temporary or Permanent), Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Sheath Removal, TR Band, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD).
- Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols and Titration of Insulin drips.
- Genitourinary/Renal: Renal failure
- IV Therapy: Arterial line management, Blood product administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral line care/management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs.
- Respiratory: BiPAP/CPAP management, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen administration, and Oxygen tanks.
- EMR: Epic experience required
Location: Greensboro, NC
**Must reside >50 miles from the facility to qualify
Rate: $2,720/weekly
Shifts Available: Days: 8:00 am-4:30 pm (Monday-Friday), 5x8 hour shifts
Scheduling Requirements:
- Length of contract: 13 weeks
- Hours per week: 40
- No Weekends
- No Holidays
- No Call
Credential Requirements:
- Resume reflecting all experience & explanation of gaps in employment
- RN licensure/compact state
- BLS Certification (AHA only)
- ACLS Certification (AHA only)
