Job Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Designer to support the development of next-generation transport refrigeration trailer systems, including hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) platforms. This role is responsible for designing and routing electrical harnesses, creating electrical schematics and manufacturing drawings, and supporting new product development from concept through production. The ideal candidate has experience designing vehicle or off-road electrical harness systems, is proficient with PTC Creo Schematics/Pro-CABLE, and has experience working within Siemens Teamcenter (or Windchill) in a product development environment.
Duties
- Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and vehicle electrical systems for transport refrigeration products.
- Create and modify 3D harness routing using PTC Creo Schematics and Pro/CABLE.
- Generate detailed 2D harness manufacturing drawings and installation documentation.
- Design harness routing with emphasis on serviceability, manufacturability, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) through all phases of the product development lifecycle.
- Refresh and improve existing harness routing designs for current production products.

- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA activities, and tolerance analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Suppliers.
- Provide engineering support for production and resolve design-related issues.
- Communicate design concepts and technical solutions to internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline.
- 2–6 years of electrical design experience.
- Experience designing vehicle, trailer, off-road, heavy equipment, or mobile equipment electrical harnesses.
- Proficiency with:
- PTC Creo Schematics
- Creo Pro/CABLE
- 3D harness routing
- 2D harness drawing creation
- Experience using Siemens Teamcenter PLM.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and written instructions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with transport refrigeration systems or commercial vehicle products.
- Experience supporting hybrid or electric vehicle (EV) product development.
- Familiarity with Windchill PLM.
- Experience with electrical component selection and specification.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design validation processes.
- Experience working within a structured Phase-Gate New Product Development (NPD) environment.
