Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. Your expertise in animal handling and husbandry will ensure that our patients receive the best possible treatment in a supportive environment.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animals' health and behavior before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and training.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Utilize animal restraint techniques safely during examinations or treatments.
- Assist with X-ray procedures as needed.
Skills
- Proficient in veterinary technician duties with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices.
- Experience in animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
- Knowledge of kennel operations and maintenance to provide a clean environment for pets.
- Familiarity with X-ray equipment and procedures is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine love for animals of all types.
- Experience in pet grooming is advantageous but not required.
