Produce Clerk
Position Summary
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Produce Clerk to join our grocery store team. This position is responsible for stocking, rotating, and maintaining fresh fruits and vegetables while providing excellent customer service. The Produce Clerk will also assist with preparing fresh-cut fruit, salsa, juice, and packaged vegetable items in a clean and safe environment.
Applicants must be 18 years or older.
Responsibilities
- Stock fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the day
- Rotate produce to ensure freshness and quality
- Remove damaged, spoiled, or outdated products
- Maintain clean, organized, and attractive produce displays
- Prepare fresh-cut fruit, vegetable trays, salsa, fresh juice, and packaged produce items
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Properly label, package, and date prepared products
- Assist customers with product questions and locating items
- Keep prep areas, coolers, and workspaces clean and sanitized
- Help unload and organize produce deliveries as needed
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in cool environments for extended periods
- Strong attention to cleanliness and food quality
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Previous grocery or food preparation experience is helpful but not required
Schedule
- Part-time
- Weekend and holiday availability will be required
- Early morning and evening shifts may be available
Work Environment
This position works in refrigerated areas, produce prep spaces, and on the sales floor. Employees should be comfortable working with fresh food products and maintaining a fast-paced workflow.
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
