Job Description: Forestry Processor Operator
Location: East Lyme, Connecticut

Pay: $40-50.00 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Forestry Processor Operator for full-time work in East Lyme, Connecticut. The ideal candidate must have strong experience operating forestry processing equipment and must be skilled in the safe and efficient operation of a Dangle-Head Processor.
This position requires a dependable, safety-minded operator who can work in outdoor forestry and land-clearing environments while maintaining high production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Timberpro Forwarder with Logmax 7000 dangle-head processor.
- Process timber, trees, and logs safely and efficiently.
- Cut, limb, measure, and process trees according to job requirements.
- Perform daily equipment inspections before operation.
- Identify and report mechanical issues or needed repairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area around the machine.
- Follow all company safety procedures and job-site rules.
- Work closely with supervisor.
- Maintain productivity while protecting equipment and job-site conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating a forestry processor with a dangle-head processing head.
- Strong understanding of forestry equipment operation.
- Ability to safely process timber in a production environment.
- Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and daily inspections.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites in the East Lyme, CT area.
- Ability to work full-time and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in land clearing, logging, timber harvesting, or right-of-way clearing.
- Mechanical knowledge related to forestry equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills with supervisors and crew members.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to climb in and out of forestry equipment safely.
- Ability to work in outdoor job-site conditions, including heat, cold, rain, mud, and uneven terrain.
- Ability to follow safety procedures in an active forestry work environment.
Compensation
This is a full-time position paying $40.00 - $50.00 per hour, based on the required experience operating a dangle-head processing head.
