Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Charles City, Iowa
Salary: $35-40/hour
Job Summary of the Maintenance Technician: The role of the Maintenance Technician involves disassembling, repairing, and reassembling production machinery at the plant in Charles City, Iowa. This position also includes participation in special projects.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:
- The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots all manual and CNC equipment to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
§ They also carry out preventative maintenance on production equipment as detailed in work order instructions.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs made, and parts used for accountability and future reference.
§ Demonstrating knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, as well as programmable logic controls.
§ Performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair work on plant equipment and CNC machines.
§ Working with voltages ranging from 240v to 480v and diagnosing motor controls on 3-phase equipment and control circuits.
§ Identifying and resolving machine malfunctions and mechanical issues.
- Having the ability to interpret and comprehend schematics, as well as designing and implementing necessary controls for new or refurbished projects.
- Assisting in equipment procedures updates and repairs to various units within the plant.
- Identifying required parts for repairs, obtaining quotes, and relocating machinery as needed.
- Supporting other maintenance tasks and demonstrating leadership skills when coordinating with team members or contractors.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Maintenance Technician:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Completion of 2-4 years of vocational training or minimum 6 years of experience in a related maintenance field.
- Preferred previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting production equipment maintenance issues.
