Job Title
Laboratory Associate/Research Associate
Department:
Clinical Chemistry
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Under the guidance of a licensed CLS, assist with moderate to complex clinical lab tests and maintain accurate records.
- Perform QA checks, monitor QC trends, and report issues.
- Manage inventory, prepare data, and support laboratory operations.
- Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and validations.
- Collaborate across departments and assist unlicensed staff as needed.
- Contribute to ongoing quality and clinical research projects.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, or related field
Qualifications:
- Licensing: Current CLT license (generalist or clinical chemist) or ability to obtain trainee license within 3 months of employment. This means you have already completed 25 semester or equivalent quarter units of chemistry courses, which must include analytical chemistry and instrumentation.
- Experience in a chemistry laboratory (close familiarity with manual pipetting and dilutions).
- Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Good team attitude. Working knowledge of lab safety, advanced time management skills, and great attention to detail.
