Join our dynamic team as a Group Leader at PS 164, where you will play a vital role in guiding and inspiring children and youth through engaging activities and positive supervision. As a Group Leader, you will be at the forefront of organizing educational and recreational activities that promote growth, teamwork, and fun. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise children and youth during various activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging youth group activities, including outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, theater performances, and educational sessions
- Manage behavior using positive discipline techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Ensure adherence to first aid protocols, CPR/AED procedures, and emergency response procedures to maintain safety at all times
- Collaborate with team members to develop age-appropriate curricula that support childhood development and youth engagement
- Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, or program coordinators regarding participant progress or concerns
- Support outdoor work activities, including supervising field trips or outdoor games in various weather conditions
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and guide children effectively
- Experience working with children in educational or camp settings; familiarity with childhood development principles is essential
- Certified in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), and first aid protocols
- Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is preferred
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing youth programs or facilitating youth group activities
- Excellent child supervision abilities combined with childcare experience in various environments such as babysitting or camp work
- Ability to handle outdoor work environments safely while maintaining high energy levels and enthusiasm for outdoor activities
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior among young participants
- Experience in tutoring, theater arts, Christian counseling, or working with students enhances your ability to connect with children creatively and compassionately
