Position Overview
The Nursing Services Specialist is a part-time position (28-32 hours/week) that combines clinical nursing skills with patient coordination and administrative support.
Unlike a traditional infusion clinic, this role focuses heavily on care coordination, patient communication, and administrative workflow, with an average of 4-8 patient appointments per day. While IV therapy, injections, blood draws, and clinical procedures are important responsibilities, much of your day will be spent ensuring patients receive exceptional follow-up, timely communication, and a seamless healthcare experience.
This position is ideal for an LPN-IV or RN who enjoys building relationships, staying organized, and making a meaningful impact beyond direct patient care.
Core Responsibilities
1. IV Therapy & Clinical Care
- Administer IV therapy and intramuscular injections per provider orders
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws as needed
- Obtain vitals, review health history updates, and prepare patients for treatment
- Monitor patients during IV therapy and respond appropriately to concerns
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards
- Complete accurate charting, billing, and documentation
2. Patient Care Coordination
A significant portion of this role centers around coordinating patient care rather than direct clinical procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate follow-up care and treatment recommendations
- Respond to patient questions regarding treatment plans, medications, and therapies
- Assist patients with scheduling recommended services
- Support providers by ensuring patients remain on track with care plans
- Monitor outstanding tasks and help close gaps in care
- Coordinate communication between providers, laboratories, pharmacies, and patients
3. Administrative & Clinical Workflow
- Review upcoming schedules for readiness
- Coordinate laboratory results and outstanding orders
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation
- Process prior authorizations and medication requests as assigned
- Assist with inventory management and ordering clinical supplies
- Support nursing workflow and provider efficiency
- Assist reception as needed with phones, patient check-in/out, and scheduling
4. Patient Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for nursing-related patient questions
- Provide education regarding treatments and wellness recommendations
- Follow up after procedures and treatments when indicated
- Coordinate referrals, laboratory testing, and provider recommendations
- Deliver compassionate, timely, and professional communication
5. Clinical Operations
- Prepare treatment rooms for daily patient care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of IV and procedure rooms
- Monitor supplies, medications, and equipment
- Ensure compliance with clinic protocols and nursing standards
- Support overall clinic efficiency through proactive problem solving

Qualifications
- Active Kansas Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license OR Active Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) License required
- IV Certification required
- Venipuncture experience required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Comfortable with electronic medical records
- Passion for preventative and integrative healthcare
Compensation & Schedule
$22–25/hour
Based on experience and qualifications
28–32 hours per week (Monday–Thursday), with the opportunity for up to 6 additional hours on Fridays for those seeking additional hours.
No evenings or weekends
Clinic Pace: Average 4-8 patient appointments per day, with roughly 75% of the role focused on patient care coordination, communication, and administrative support, and 25% dedicated to direct clinical care (IV therapy, injections, blood draws, and procedures).
