Working Hours:
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule. (24 hours on 72 hours off)
The Paramedic functions as a member of a three-person critical care transport team responsible for the following:
- Initiation of medical care within the licensed and certified expanded scope of practice
- Assisting the Registered Nurse with all aspects of patient care
- Participation in team-based interdisciplinary patient care
- Safe Driving of Company Vehicles: *CEVO training required within 30 days of hire
- Ensure all equipment is clean and ready for use
- Prompt reporting of any/all damaged or lost company equipment and vehicles
- Participation with other shift members in daily station duties
- Performing initial patient contact including placing the patient on all appropriate monitoring devices
- Attend all mandatory training and development evolutions
- IDPH Paramedic in good standing
- BLS/ACLS/PALS Trauma Certification
- PHTLS/ITLS
- Successful completion of Loyola EMS System Entry within 30 days of hire
- CCEMT-P required within two years of hire
