Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions with speed and precision.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information.
- Manage cash drawer handling and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times.
- Conduct product demos when needed to showcase features and benefits of merchandise, encouraging upselling opportunities.
- Maintain knowledge of retail store products, merchandising standards, and current promotions to assist customers effectively.
- Assist with stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to ensure the sales floor remains attractive and well-stocked.
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for sales processing, returns, exchanges, and refunds.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or coordinating with team members.
- Support in merchandising efforts by setting up displays and ensuring products are presented appealingly.
- Engage in retail math tasks such as calculating totals, discounts, and change accurately during transactions.
- Promote a positive shopping experience through active communication skills and friendly attitude.
- Participate in product demos to educate customers about new items or features, enhancing their shopping experience.
Experience
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for customer service is key!
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is advantageous.
- Supervising experience in retail or customer service roles is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued for serving diverse customers effectively.
- Basic math skills are essential for handling cash transactions confidently and accurately.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies will set you apart.
- Experience in cashiering combined with excellent phone etiquette ensures smooth customer interactions from start to finish.
